ITB syndrome

Ilio Tibial Band syndrome is an overuse injury of the ilio tibial band, a bunch of tissues located on the outer side of the knee. The patient may feel pain on the outer side of the knee while walking.

Insoles can help patients recovering from IT band syndrome by shifting some of the load to the medial side of the knee thus helping the patient to recover faster from the injury.

Iliotibial band syndrome (ITBS or IT band syndrome) is an overuse injury of the connective tissues that are located on the lateral or outer part of the knee and thigh. This causes pain on the outer side of the knee, just above the knee joint especially while running when the foot strikes the ground. Iliotibial band syndrome is the most common cause of lateral knee pain in runners and bicyclists.

Podiapro makes insoles to temporarily shift the load from the lateral to the medial side of the knee which can assist in faster recovery once the patient has completed the recommended resting period and just begins to walk again.
